SUMMARYVera P. Fomina focuses her practice on various employment matters, including disputes related to discrimination based on gender, pregnancy, family responsibilities, race, religion, and disability; harassment; wrongful discharge; retaliation; wages and executive compensation; and employment contracts. Vera is experienced in counseling and representing employees on employment issues, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, USERRA, Washington Minimum Wage Act and the Washington Law Against Discrimination, wrongful termination, and unpaid wage claims. Vera successfully represented employees in federal and state court litigation, and before governmental agencies, such as the EEOC and DOL. Prior to founding Skidmore & Fomina, PLLC in 2018, Vera counseled employers in employment matters and successfully represented both small and large businesses in employment litigation matters, EEOC investigations, and DOL audits.

REPRESENTATIVE CASESObtained a settlement over $620,000 on wage and hour and misclassification claims. Settled an age discrimination case for over $230,000. Litigated and settled a wrongful termination case for an amount in excess of $450,000. Obtained $1.5 million jury verdict against national health care company for retaliation and wrongful termination. Received $180,000 settlement on a sexual harassment and gender discrimination claim. Successfully litigated and obtained a $250,000 settlement in a reverse race discrimination case. Successfully defended against motions to dismiss based in multiple cases.
